We are a large inclusive primary school with approximately 775 pupils and we are looking to appoint a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to provide high quality support to children across the school through the delivery of speech and language programmes.

The role requires good organisational, personal and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of children in all key stages. The post holder will be required to deliver intervention programmes to pupils with identified needs and to keep records of their speech, language and communication abilities. The post holder will also be required to provide lunchtime supervision.

The post is for 30 hours per week (6 hours a day, 8.45am - 3.15pm, Monday to Friday) and term time only (38 weeks per year). The pay scale is Kent Range 4 at £23,338 per annum for a full-time position which equates to approximately £15,999 per annum pro rata for this role. The salary includes a payment in respect of the postholder's pro rata entitlement to Annual Leave appropriate to their grade.

We require a good standard of general education and GCSE qualifications or equivalent in English and Mathematics at Grade C or above.  Verification of qualifications will be required before employment can commence so please do not declare any qualifications unless you can produce the original certificate.

A formal interview will take place with a panel comprising of a Head of School and a SENDCo and will last approximately thirty minutes. Candidates will also undertake a twenty five minute English and Maths test.
